About

I’m a knowledgeable and experienced SPORTS Chiropractor, Acupuncturist and Personal Trainer, passionate about achieving results and serving clients in Oakville, Burlington, and surrounding greater toronto areas.

My Expertise

I am a fitness and anatomy geek. I have always been passionate about exercise, nutrition and living well, which is what inspired me to pursue a career in the health and fitness industry.  I am an experienced Chiropractor, Acupuncturist and Fitness Professional with over 16 years practice experience as a Toronto chiropractor, over 15 years as a Toronto acupuncture practitioner and 23 years as a fitness coach, Toronto personal trainer, and strength and conditioning specialist.  As a coach, multi-sport athlete, and former fitness competitor myself, I understand the cyclical challenges and triumphs of training, proper nutrition, competition, injury prevention, treatment and rehabilitation.

I am also a business owner and busy mom of 2 who understands how demanding (yet rewarding!) it is to balance being a full time parent while also being a full time career person, and having very little time to sneak in self care.  I know what it’s like to be injured and to be told I need to stop and rest - my goal is to keep you moving - but in a safe, efficient, and pain free way.  Movement is medicine - let your body move!

My Philosophy

I am DIFFERENT.  I don’t want to see you. My goal is to help you feel better, move better, and stay at your optimal health and performance - not just in the clinic, but all the time! I fix you up, get you out of the clinic and back to doing the things you love doing. No gimmicks.

 My Story

Years ago, I founded my first business in Toronto, where I was the sole owner and clinic director of a busy multidisciplinary health clinic. Through dedication and hard work, I successfully built and expanded my Toronto chiropractic practice into a thriving multidisciplinary sports medicine clinic and fitness studio. I am proud to have fostered a vibrant and positive community centered around fitness, health, and wellness.

After 10 years in practice, I sold my clinic and fitness studio and embarked on a period of self-reflection through travel, nature, mindfulness, and fitness. Upon my return, I started another business venture doing independent contracting in private practice. Stepping away from busy corporate life has allowed me to do less but do it well, and to focus on what I love most: dedicating more time to hands-on patient care, pursuing academic advancement, fitness training, and spending more time with family and loved ones.  I am absolutely thrilled and could not be happier with this chapter in my career.

My Approach

My approach to achieving and maintaining good health and well-being extends beyond mere pain relief. Injury prevention, maintaining good health, building resilience to stress and illness, optimizing sports performance, healing and recovery, are fundamental aspects of my practice. With these elements in mind, I offer a personalized and integrated approach customized to your specific needs, to help you achieve your health and wellness goals.

  • I believe in evidence-informed, scientific, “Western” medicine, but with an “Eastern” spin. I have completed my Canadian Fellowship in Rehabilitation Sciences, and am an expert in diagnosing and treating conditions of the neuromusculoskeletal system for all areas of the body. This includes acute care and wellness check-ups for the neurological, muscular and skeletal systems of the body, working on injured muscles, nerves, ligaments, tendons, and joints for people of all ages and athletic abilities, and prescribing appropriate strength and rehab exercises to keep you strong and to keep your pain away. As a complement to my background in the biomedical sciences, I have also completed training in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) acupuncture and healing. Incorporating elements of Eastern medicine, including traditional pulse balancing and Chinese meridian theory, into my treatment approach, has been a powerful but extremely effective and positive addition to my practice.

  • I utilize a movement-based, functional approach when working with my patients and clients. I incorporate advanced neuromusculoskeletal assessments and functional movement screens with traditional orthopaedic testing in order to diagnose and treat not only the area of complaint, but the root cause of the problem. As a Chiropractor who is also an Acupuncturist and experienced personal trainer and conditioning specialist, I have unique knowledge of biomechanics, anatomy and exercise physiology, which allows me to seamlessly implement manual therapy, acupuncture protocols, training and exercise rehabilitation treatment programs to improve health and healing, functional ability, core stability, strength, power, and endurance. Patient education, preventative stretching / strengthening exercises, precise hands-on treatment, physical rehabilitation, nutrition and ergonomic advice are key elements of my practice as I work with my patients to exceed their health, wellness and performance goals.

  • You can always expect open communication and an honest and direct approach to your health when working with me. Patient education, preventative stretching / strengthening exercises, hands-on manual therapy, acupuncture, physical rehabilitation, nutrition and ergonomic advice are key elements of my practice as I work with you to exceed your health and fitness goals. When an adjustment may be required (and only if it is safe and appropriate to do so!), I offer both traditional manual adjustments and gentle non-rotary adjustments – safe even for pregnant moms, babies & seniors. If you wish not to be adjusted, not to worry, I completely respect your preferences and will offer other very effective alternatives. If a medical referral, or imaging is needed, I am always up front and will take care of connecting you with the appropriate professional to take care of your needs.

  • I have a sports injury focussed practice, with extensive experience working with a wide array of individuals ranging from kids to seniors, competitive runners, swimmers, triathletes, gymnasts, elite athletes at different levels (MLB, OHL, NHL, PWHL, CFL, MLS, Olympic, Paralympic, provincial, and national), office workers and busy professionals. I specialize in treating and rehabilitating sports injuries and using exercise therapy to prevent injuries and improve posture and overall fitness. I have additional certifications in fertility acupuncture, pregnancy acupuncture, and have a special interest in treating prenatal and postpartum mothers.

  • I received my Doctor of Chiropractic from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College after graduating from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Kinesiology. I'm credentialed in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture from McMaster University, Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture from The Institute of Traditional Medicine, and have completed my Fellowship in Chiropractic Rehabilitation Sciences in Toronto.

  • Outside the clinic, I work as a Provincial Clinical Director in Health Promotion for the Special Olympics Canada. During my spare time, I enjoy lifting weights, running, and traveling off the beaten path - 40 countries and counting!
