Your first visit will include a full assessment and will take approximately 45-60 minutes. Subsequent treatments are typically 30 minutes on average, and depending on what other therapies (I.e. ART, Graston, Acupuncture, Exercise rehabilitation) are required, longer appointment time slots are also available (45 or 60 minute appointments).
-
This depends on the condition and person being treated. If your condition is fairly new and uncomplicated, you may only need a few treatments. If your condition is more serious or a chronic condition (meaning you’ve had it for a while), you may require more treatments. Many other factors also influence the number of treatments you might need, such as your:
pre-injury level of health and fitness,
history of previous injury,
occupation (I.e. Do you sit for many hours throughout the day, experience repetitive strain, or work on an assembly line, for example?),
recreational activities (I.e. Do you play contact sports? Do you perform preventative stretching and strengthening exercises?),
stress levels,
eating and sleeping habits,
substance use,
age, and
genetics.
This is something Dr. Katie will discuss with you after going through a complete medical history and performing an exam on your area(s) of concern – no two patients and no two situations are ever the same – Dr. Katie tailors your treatment to you, and only you!

Dr. Katie is a dual-licensed, fully registered Doctor of Chiropractic, licensed with the College of Chiropractors of Ontario, and Registered Acupuncturist, licensed with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario. This means that most of her patients do not pay completely out of pocket for their treatments, as most extended health benefit plans cover chiropractic and/or acupuncture services! Following each treatment, you will receive an invoice with all the necessary information for you to submit to your extended health insurance provider for prompt reimbursement. Depending on your health plan, Dr. Katie may even be able to direct bill your insurance company directly, so please bring all your information to your first visit.
Please note that some insurance companies may require a prescription from your family physician before commencing treatment in order for your session to be covered – although Dr. Katie does NOT require a prescription to treat you, each insurance company is different, and may require a prescription solely for reimbursement purposes - so we recommend you check with your insurance company directly, just to be sure. This also applies for any medical devices fitted by Dr. Katie including but not limited to: orthotics, orthotic shoes, braces, ergonomic devices, fitness equipment, pillows, compression socks and stockings.
Dr. Katie and her staff are happy to help review your individual plans to figure out how to maximize your benefits and get you feeling better.
